Chapter 1
Софія і Макс тижнями шукали недорогу квартиру в центрі міста.
Sofia and Max had been looking for an affordable flat in the city centre for weeks.
Одного вечора вони знайшли неймовірне оголошення: три кімнати з великим балконом і дуже низька оренда.
One evening they found an incredible advert: three rooms with a big balcony, and very low rent.
«Тут має бути якась проблема, — сказав Макс. — Не може бути так дешево».
“There must be a problem,” said Max. “It can't be this cheap.”
Проте вони зателефонували власникові й домовилися про перегляд наступного дня.
Still, they called the landlord and arranged a viewing for the next day.
Власник, пан Россі, відчинив двері з широкою усмішкою.
The landlord, Mr Rossi, opened the door with a huge smile.

Chapter 2
Квартира справді була гарна: світла кухня, нові меблі й добре опалення.
The flat really was beautiful: a bright kitchen, new furniture and good heating.
Потім із балкона долинув дивний голос: «Привіт! Привіт! Кава є?»
Then a strange voice came from the balcony: “Hello! Hello! Any coffee?”
На балконі сидів великий зелений папуга.
On the balcony sat a big green parrot.
«Це Пако, — сказав пан Россі. — Йому сорок років, і він відмовляється покидати цю квартиру».
“This is Paco,” said Mr Rossi. “He's forty years old and refuses to leave this flat.”
«Якщо орендарі доглядатимуть за ним, оренда залишиться низькою».
“If the tenants look after him, the rent stays low.”

Chapter 3

Вони сплатили заставу й переїхали за тиждень.
They paid the deposit and moved in a week later.
Щоранку о шостій Пако будив їх криком: «Доброго ранку! Кава!»
Every morning at six, Paco woke them up shouting: “Good morning! Coffee!”
Спочатку це доводило їх до сказу, але поступово вони до нього звикли.
At first it drove them crazy, but little by little they got used to him.
Тепер сусіди знають їх як «пару з папугою».
Now the neighbours know them as “the couple with the parrot”.
