Chapter 1
Karim llevaba tres meses buscando trabajo y por fin recibió una respuesta.
Karim had been looking for a job for three months, and finally he got an answer.
Una empresa de diseño lo invitaba a una entrevista el martes a las nueve.
A design company was inviting him to an interview on Tuesday at nine.
Pasó toda la noche releyendo su solicitud y su experiencia.
He spent the whole evening reading his application and his experience again.
El martes por la mañana se puso su mejor camisa y salió temprano.
On Tuesday morning, he put on his best shirt and left early.
Pero en el metro un hombre le tiró el café justo encima de la camisa.
But on the underground, a man spilled his coffee right on his shirt.

Chapter 2
Karim no tenía tiempo para volver a casa a cambiarse.
Karim had no time to go home and change.
Entró en la empresa con una gran mancha marrón y el corazón a mil.
He walked into the company with a big brown stain and his heart beating fast.
En la sala de reuniones lo esperaba la jefa: una mujer con una taza de café.
In the meeting room, the boss was waiting for him: a woman holding a cup of coffee.
Le miró la camisa y durante un momento no dijo nada.
She looked at his shirt and, for a moment, said nothing.
Luego se echó a reír: «¿Café en el metro? ¡A mí me pasó la semana pasada!»
Then she started to laugh: “Coffee on the underground? That happened to me last week!”

Two days later, his phone rang: he had got the job.
El sueldo era bueno, el contrato indefinido y los compañeros muy simpáticos.
The salary was good, the contract was permanent and his colleagues were very friendly.
El primer día, su jefa le regaló una taza que decía «Prohibido en el metro».
On his first day, his boss gave him a present: a cup that said “Not for the underground”.
