Chapter 1
В воскресенье у мамы день рождения, а у Йонаса до сих пор нет подарка.
It's Mum's birthday on Sunday, and Jonas still doesn't have a present.
У него всего сорок евро, поэтому он идёт в торговый центр.
He has only forty euros, so he goes to the shopping centre.
В первом магазине красивый шарф стоит шестьдесят евро. Слишком дорого!
In the first shop, a beautiful scarf costs sixty euros. Too expensive!
Во втором магазине рубашки дешёвые, но маме не нравится этот цвет.
In the second shop, the shirts are cheap, but Mum doesn't like that colour.
Йонас устал и немного расстроен. Что же ему купить?
Jonas is tired and a bit sad. What can he buy?

Chapter 2

Jonas remembers: Mum had the same book when he was a child.
Она потеряла её, когда они переезжали.
She lost it when they moved house.
«Сколько стоит эта книга?» — спрашивает он старика за прилавком.
"How much is this book?" he asks the old man at the counter.

Chapter 3

With the rest of the money, he buys flowers and wrapping paper.
В воскресенье мама разворачивает подарок и ничего не говорит.
On Sunday, Mum opens the present and doesn't say anything.
Потом она открывает книгу и находит внутри своё имя: это её старая книга!
Then she opens the book and finds her own name inside: it is her old book!
Мама плачет и смеётся одновременно. Это лучший подарок на свете.
Mum cries and laughs at the same time. It's the best present ever.
