Chapter 1
Na quarta-feira de manhã, a Leyla acorda com uma dor de barriga terrível.
On Wednesday morning, Leyla wakes up with a terrible stomach ache.
Também tem dores de cabeça e um pouco de febre.
She also has a headache and a little fever.
Liga para o consultório e consegue uma consulta às dez.
She calls the doctor's surgery and gets an appointment at ten.
Na sala de espera, há muita gente a tossir.
In the waiting room, there are many people coughing.
A Leyla espera quase uma hora. Sente-se cada vez pior.
Leyla waits for almost an hour. She feels worse and worse.

A Leyla pensa. «Sopa ao almoço e, à noite... um prato grande de cogumelos.»
Leyla thinks. "Soup for lunch, and in the evening... a big plate of mushrooms."
«De onde vieram os cogumelos?», pergunta a médica.
"Where did the mushrooms come from?" asks the doctor.
«Da floresta. Foi o meu vizinho que os apanhou.»
"From the forest. My neighbour picked them."

A caminho de casa, a Leyla liga ao vizinho: «Chega de cogumelos, por favor!»
On the way home, Leyla calls her neighbour: "No more mushrooms, please!"
