Chapter 1
Le previsioni del tempo dicono: domenica sole e venticinque gradi.
The weather forecast says: sunny and twenty-five degrees on Sunday.
Mila e i suoi amici organizzano un picnic al lago.
Mila and her friends plan a picnic by the lake.
Ognuno porta qualcosa: panini, frutta, succo e una grande coperta.
Everybody brings something: sandwiches, fruit, juice and a big blanket.
Solo Tim porta un ombrello. Tutti lo prendono in giro.
Only Tim brings an umbrella. Everybody laughs at him.
«Guarda il cielo! Non c'è nemmeno una nuvola!»
"Look at the sky! There isn't a single cloud!"

Chapter 2

At three o'clock, the wind gets stronger and it gets cloudy.
Poi, all'improvviso, comincia a piovere. Fortissimo!
Then, suddenly, it starts to rain. Very hard!
I panini si bagnano e la coperta è piena d'acqua.
The sandwiches get wet and the blanket is full of water.
Tutti corrono. Solo Tim resta asciutto sotto il suo ombrello.
Everybody runs. Only Tim stays dry under his umbrella.

After an hour, the rain stops and the sun comes out again.
Sopra il lago c'è un arcobaleno enorme.
Over the lake, there is a huge rainbow.
La prossima volta, dice Mila, tutti porteranno un ombrello. Non si sa mai!
Next time, Mila says, everybody brings an umbrella. Just in case!
