Chapter 1
Tom ha una piccola gatta grigia. Si chiama Luna.
Tom has a small grey cat. Her name is Luna.
Ogni mattina Luna dorme vicino alla finestra.
Every morning, Luna sleeps by the window.
Ma oggi la finestra è aperta e Luna non c'è.
But today the window is open and Luna is not there.
Tom cerca sotto il letto e in cucina.
Tom looks under the bed and in the kitchen.
«Mamma! Luna è sparita!» grida.
"Mum! Luna is gone!" he shouts.

"No, sorry," says the baker. "But take a bread roll!"
Al parco Tom vede una bambina con una gatta grigia.
In the park, Tom sees a little girl with a grey cat.
«Luna?» chiede. Ma la gatta non lo guarda.
"Luna?" he asks. But the cat does not look at him.

He opens the door. Luna is there, between his sweaters.
E non è sola: ci sono tre gattini piccolissimi!
And she is not alone: there are three tiny kittens!
Tom ride. «Mamma, adesso abbiamo quattro gatti!»
Tom laughs. "Mum, now we have four cats!"
