Chapter 1
Karim cercava lavoro da tre mesi e finalmente ricevette una risposta.
Karim had been looking for a job for three months, and finally he got an answer.
Un'azienda di design lo invitava a un colloquio martedì alle nove.
A design company was inviting him to an interview on Tuesday at nine.
Passò tutta la sera a rileggere la sua candidatura e le sue esperienze.
He spent the whole evening reading his application and his experience again.
Martedì mattina indossò la sua camicia migliore e uscì presto.
On Tuesday morning, he put on his best shirt and left early.
Ma in metropolitana un uomo gli rovesciò il caffè proprio sulla camicia.
But on the underground, a man spilled his coffee right on his shirt.

Chapter 2
Karim non aveva tempo di tornare a casa a cambiarsi.
Karim had no time to go home and change.
Entrò nell'azienda con una grande macchia marrone e il cuore a mille.
He walked into the company with a big brown stain and his heart beating fast.
Nella sala riunioni lo aspettava la capa: una donna con una tazza di caffè.
In the meeting room, the boss was waiting for him: a woman holding a cup of coffee.
Guardò la sua camicia e per un attimo non disse niente.
She looked at his shirt and, for a moment, said nothing.
Poi scoppiò a ridere: «Caffè in metropolitana? È successo anche a me la settimana scorsa!»
Then she started to laugh: “Coffee on the underground? That happened to me last week!”

Chapter 3

Karim talked about his own projects and answered questions about teamwork.
Due giorni dopo squillò il telefono: aveva ottenuto il lavoro.
Two days later, his phone rang: he had got the job.
Lo stipendio era buono, il contratto a tempo indeterminato e i colleghi molto simpatici.
The salary was good, the contract was permanent and his colleagues were very friendly.
Il primo giorno la capa gli regalò una tazza con la scritta «Non per la metro».
On his first day, his boss gave him a present: a cup that said “Not for the underground”.
