Chapter 1
Domenica è il compleanno della mamma e Jonas non ha ancora un regalo.
It's Mum's birthday on Sunday, and Jonas still doesn't have a present.
Ha solo quaranta euro, quindi va al centro commerciale.
He has only forty euros, so he goes to the shopping centre.
Nel primo negozio una bella sciarpa costa sessanta euro. Troppo cara!
In the first shop, a beautiful scarf costs sixty euros. Too expensive!
Nel secondo negozio le camicie costano poco, ma alla mamma quel colore non piace.
In the second shop, the shirts are cheap, but Mum doesn't like that colour.
Jonas è stanco e un po' triste. Che cosa può comprare?
Jonas is tired and a bit sad. What can he buy?

Chapter 3

Domenica la mamma apre il regalo e non dice niente.
On Sunday, Mum opens the present and doesn't say anything.
Poi apre il libro e dentro trova il suo nome: è proprio il suo vecchio libro!
Then she opens the book and finds her own name inside: it is her old book!
La mamma piange e ride allo stesso tempo. È il regalo più bello di sempre.
Mum cries and laughs at the same time. It's the best present ever.
