Chapter 1
Clara hatte diesen Urlaub monatelang geplant: eine Woche am Meer auf Malta.
Clara had been planning this holiday for months: a week by the sea in Malta.
Der Flug war pünktlich, und sie landete voller Energie am Flughafen.
The flight was on time, and she landed at the airport full of energy.
Doch an der Gepäckausgabe wartete und wartete sie. Ihr Koffer kam nie.
But at baggage reclaim, she waited and waited. Her suitcase never came.
Am Schalter für verlorenes Gepäck prüfte ein müder Mitarbeiter ihren Pass und ihr Ticket.
At the lost luggage desk, a tired employee checked her passport and her ticket.
„Ihr Koffer ist in Oslo“, sagte er. „Er kommt in zwei, drei Tagen an.“
“Your suitcase is in Oslo,” he said. “It will arrive in two or three days.”

Am nächsten Morgen schwamm sie im Meer, während ihr Koffer noch unterwegs war.
The next morning, she was swimming in the sea while her suitcase was still travelling.
