Chapter 1
Daniel était sur le point de s'endormir quand son téléphone a sonné.
Daniel was about to fall asleep when his phone rang.
Une voix de femme inconnue a dit : « C'est toi, Marco ? S'il te plaît, ne raccroche pas. »
An unknown woman's voice said: "Is that you, Marco? Please don't hang up."
Daniel lui a expliqué qu'elle s'était trompée de numéro, mais elle a continué à parler.
Daniel explained that she had the wrong number, but she kept talking.
Elle a dit qu'elle était à la gare et qu'elle avait raté le dernier train.
She said she was at the station and had missed the last train.
Il pleuvait, sa batterie était presque vide et elle avait peur.
It was raining, her battery was almost dead, and she was scared.

When he arrived, the platform was empty except for one woman in a yellow coat.
Elle s'est retournée, et Daniel n'en a pas cru ses yeux.
She turned around, and Daniel couldn't believe his eyes.

Ils sont rentrés à pied sous la pluie, sous un seul parapluie, en parlant du bon vieux temps.
They walked back through the rain under one umbrella, talking about the old days.
Daniel a préparé un chocolat chaud, et ils ont parlé jusqu'au lever du soleil.
Daniel made hot chocolate, and they talked until the sun came up.
Parfois, pense Daniel, le mauvais numéro est justement le bon.
Sometimes, Daniel thinks, the wrong number is exactly the right one.
