Chapter 1
صباح الأربعاء، تستيقظ ليلى بألم شديد في المعدة.
On Wednesday morning, Leyla wakes up with a terrible stomach ache.
لديها أيضًا صداع وحمّى خفيفة.
She also has a headache and a little fever.
تتصل بعيادة الطبيب وتحصل على موعد في الساعة العاشرة.
She calls the doctor's surgery and gets an appointment at ten.
في غرفة الانتظار، كثير من الناس يسعلون.
In the waiting room, there are many people coughing.
تنتظر ليلى قرابة ساعة. تشعر بأنها أسوأ فأسوأ.
Leyla waits for almost an hour. She feels worse and worse.

Chapter 2
أخيرًا تنادي الطبيبة اسمها. الدكتورة فيبر لطيفة وهادئة.
Finally the doctor calls her name. Dr Weber is friendly and calm.
تسأل: «ماذا أكلتِ أمس؟»
"What did you eat yesterday?" she asks.
تفكّر ليلى. «حساء في الغداء، وفي المساء... طبق كبير من الفطر.»
Leyla thinks. "Soup for lunch, and in the evening... a big plate of mushrooms."
تسأل الطبيبة: «من أين جاء الفطر؟»
"Where did the mushrooms come from?" asks the doctor.
«من الغابة. جمعه جاري.»
"From the forest. My neighbour picked them."

Chapter 3

تعطي ليلى وصفة لدواء.
She gives Leyla a prescription for some medicine.
«اشربي الكثير من الماء، وكلي الأرز فقط، واستريحي يومين.»
"Drink a lot of water, eat only rice and rest for two days."
في طريق العودة، تتصل ليلى بجارها: «لا مزيد من الفطر، من فضلك!»
On the way home, Leyla calls her neighbour: "No more mushrooms, please!"
