Chapter 1
Клара несколько месяцев планировала этот отпуск: неделю у моря на Мальте.
Clara had been planning this holiday for months: a week by the sea in Malta.
Рейс прибыл вовремя, и она приземлилась в аэропорту полная сил.
The flight was on time, and she landed at the airport full of energy.
Но у ленты выдачи багажа она ждала и ждала. Её чемодан так и не появился.
But at baggage reclaim, she waited and waited. Her suitcase never came.
У стойки потерянного багажа усталый сотрудник проверил её паспорт и билет.
At the lost luggage desk, a tired employee checked her passport and her ticket.
«Ваш чемодан в Осло, — сказал он. — Он прибудет через два-три дня».
“Your suitcase is in Oslo,” he said. “It will arrive in two or three days.”

That evening, Clara bought a swimsuit, two T-shirts and a light dress.

The next morning, she was swimming in the sea while her suitcase was still travelling.
